BRIGHT AND COOL TODAY, RAIN LATE FRIDAY, COLD WEEKEND

The sun is shinning this morning across, albeit through some high, thin clouds. There is an area of low pressure well south of Long Island that is sending them northward. No biggie! They should decrease throughout the day. It will be another nice afternoon, but cooler than yesterday by 5-10°.

It turns chilly tonight under partly cloudy skies. Friday morning wake-up temperatures will be around 40°. Clouds will increase throughout the morning with rain arriving later in the day. Current timing projects as sundown for the earliest drops to fall, though that could change by a few hours either way. Precipitation could be heavy at times Friday night before exiting Saturday morning. Some parts of the island could receive over an inch of rain. As skies clear, winds will pick up. Saturday highs only reach the 40s, with wind chills in the 30s later in the day and especially overnight into Sunday. Sunshine will be more plentiful on Veterans Day, with winds lightening up a bit as well, but temperatures will remain below normal.

Clouds increase on Monday (chilly again) ahead of showers on Tuesday. It will be one of the rogue seasonable days in the coming 7-10 days. I mentioned in yesterday’s post we may see a few of these, but otherwise the cold air will be sticking around at least into the beginning of Thanksgiving week.

Have a great day!
