Christmas Eve Christmas Day Long Island Weather
We are enjoying a nice Friday of weather as Long Islanders continue on their mad rush to finish up all the Christmas Shopping and of course food shopping for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. No weather issues are forecast for the first part of tonight at least with arriving clouds from the west. You can see them on the satellite loop moving eastward. As of right now the radars are quiet but we will see some radar echos showing up this evening well to the west and this will mean some rain arriving before daybreak. Temperatures will probably hold in the 40s overnight with cloud cover keeping this on the mild side.
Christmas Eve will start with some rain but the rain should taper off from west to east across Long Island from early to mid afternoon. After that it is nice and dry Saturday night with no weather issues and temperatures in the 30s. For Christmas Day it is going to be a dry sunny but chilly day. We ill start out in the upper 20s and highs will probably just reach 40 or the lower 40s. There will be only minimal travel related issues Saturday morning and the rest of the holiday weekend including Monday.
Weather wise next week will start mild and finish colder as we head into the new year. Models of course differ on the specifics but we will zero in on this with a JOESTRADAMUS post and video later today.
