The Long Island weekend weather forecast looks very good. We have cleared out from yesterday’s weather system that produced hardly a drop of rain anywhere. Now we have a good looking Friday ahead with plenty of sunshine. Long Island temperatures will range this afternoon from the middle 70s over the east end to the lower 80s in Western Nassau. It remains rather comfortable on the humidity side of the equation. One issue tonight will be some dense fog that will develop especially over the East End and South Shore. However this fog will quickly burn off Saturday morning shortly after sunrise. Radars below will remain clear overhead though some showers will develop in areas to our south. These showers are no threat to Long Island today. No showers are in the forecast right through Monday.

Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs reaching into the 80s though it will be cooler at the shore and in the mid to upper 70s east. Sunday looks mostly sunny with highs again into the 80s but cooler at the shore. Monday it turns a little more humid and a little warmer with highs in the 80s but the next cold front will approach Monday night.

The next cold front could bring some showers or a thunderstorm Monday night. The front will stall on Tuesday for a little while so there may be some lingering clouds and showers. But that will be followed by dry weather Wednesday through Friday. If you are shore bound today, there is a moderate risk of rip currents so exercise caution.
