A day like today to me stands out as some of the best weather Long Island can have this time of year. Dry air with a relatively cool ocean wind brings sunshine to inland areas. Notice that there is low cloudiness along the coastline that is nearby enough that we have to watch and see whether it decides to move inland. The other feature today is a cold front to the west that moves through here on Friday. That front appears to be losing support as it moves eastward so my thinking is that there could be a few passing showers on Friday but nothing more than that. Otherwise it will be a day of clouds mixed with some sun.
Local radar will be quiet today. Temperatures should reach the 70s however at the beaches and over the east end it may only stay in the mid to upper 60s. Highs Friday will be in the 70s.

As for the weekend Saturday looks good with a mix of sun and clouds and highs again in the 70s. Sunday we have a strong cold front coming in from the west as a deep trough and low pressure develop over the Great Lakes and Northeast. It looks like a good shot for some rain and possible thunderstorms so of the two weekend days, Saturday is definitely the better of the two.
