The weekend storm system is moving northeast and gradually clouds will be increasing and thickening up during the day Saturday and rain will develop across Long Island during the afternoon from west to east. Models are still all over the place regarding the northern extent of the heavier rain. The NAM model has been the most aggressive showing an inch plus of rain consistently over the last several days while other models have been swinging back and forth. If you have things to do outside you can go about them this morning with no issues and probably push them to just after lunch.

However the first round of rain manages to play out it should be moving out around or before daybreak on Sunday however there are issues for later Sunday afternoon and again for later Monday and Tuesday. The strong cold upper low will remain overhead creating a cold unstable atmosphere so showers are likely to develop to the west and they could swing through Long Island later Sunday afternoon and evening and again for Monday and Tuesday. Weather conditions should finally improve on Wednesday with a mix of sun and clouds and no showers. The next puzzle to solve will be the Memorial Day Holiday weekend which we will take a stab at later today.
