Severe Thunderstorm Watch Posted Until 8pm
Everything is on the table for the combination of heat humidity and possible severe thunderstorms. We are already seeing a busy radar to the northwest and some severe thunderstorms have already developed. The Storm Prediction Center has Long Island at risk for severe weather. The HRRR model for this evening has a squall line of strong thunderstorms forecast to move southeast and over Long Island between 6pm and 9pm. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is posted for Nassau County and the adjacent coastal waters. Suffolk County is not included in this but it may be extended eastward.
