Once we are done with this round of downpours for tonight and Tuesday, weather conditions switch to beach weather on Wednesday over Long Island. A west wind will keep the sea breeze at bay and we should see lots of sunshine all day long. No rain is forecast. Temperatures at the beaches should reach near 80 before any sea breeze develops. To me it sounds like a good day for the beach if you so choose.

Of course just because the air temperatures and sky conditions say head to the beach, the water temperatures this weekend suggest that only the brave should dare the surf. Ocean water temperatures are in the low to mid 50s around Long Island so unless you like the feeling of knives cutting through you, I would think twice about swimming in water that cold. Exposure can be an issue.
With respect to sun tans and sunburns the UV index will be very high on Wednesday as the sun is as strong now as it is in late July. You will burn quickly under full sunshine.
Models suggest that temperatures will be on the warm side into the weekend however there will be sea breeze issues developing from day to day.
