Long Island Record Highs Possible Next 3 Days
Seabreeze Confined to Immediate Coast
Long Island always has trouble in the spring with a colder ocean. Often times it means sitting in temperatures that are 10 to 20 degrees or more than areas from NYC west. This is NOT the case this time around and frankly a little unusual for April but these patterns set up and we can take advantage. It has been dry since last Saturday and that dry streak continues through Friday at least and possibly through Sunday with a little luck. As for today we have partly sto mostly sunny skies in the forecast. The northwest flow aloft continues and that is only helping to keep the sea breeze confined to the immediate beaches and only in the mid to late afternoon noon. Most highs today will be in the middle to upper 70s in much of Nassau and Western Suffolk while over the East End middle 60s will likely do it for highs.

WEATHER RADAR
The west and northwest flow continue for Thursday and Friday and this will mean higher temperatures and the potential for record highs. We will have sunny skies both days. Temperatures will reach the 80s in most areas inland in Nassau and Western Suffolk with cooler temperatures again confined to the South Shore coastaline and the East End. Record highs are possible both days.
We will continue to be on the warm side of normal over the weekend though we may have more of a south wind and clouds to contend with. That probably means highs that will be in the 70s with 60s over the East End and Coast. We will also through in the chance that there could be a shower Saturday though most of the day should be no worse than partly sunny. Sunday should also be a partly sunny day though a cold front will approach with showers and possibly a thunderstorm Sunday night. Next week we get back to normal for this time of year.
