Long Island Sees Shower Thunderstorm Chance Tuesday Night
Higher Chance Wednesday Night
We have completed 3 terrific days of weather and no doubt for Long Island this was the nicest 3 day stretch of weather we have seen all spring. On the satellite tonight we have high clouds mostly to our north and clear skies to our south. I think we will see a mix of both tonight. Lows by morning will be in the mid to upper 50s with the warmest location close to NYC being closer to 60. Radars are nice and quiet and we don’t see any issues regarding rain or showers into early Tuesday afternoon at least.

WEATHER RADAR
Tuesday for Long Island starts out with sunshine but some clouds will arrive later in the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 70s to near 80 though it will be cooler at the shore. Some showers and isolated thunderstorms will be moving out of Pennsylvania late in the afternoon but I think many of them will likely fall apart by the time they reach Long Island after 8pm. Otherwise we will have clouds overnight into Wednesday morning with lows generally in the low to mid 60s.
During the day Wednesday we will have changeable skies with some sunny periods but clouds will take over later in the day. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s, again cooler along the shore. Wednesday night into Thursday morning look for downpours and a maybe a thunderstorm as a cold front moves through. Some rain could linger in the morning but it should be gone after 8 or 9am. Then look for decreasing clouds and increasing sun. Highs will be in the 70s. Friday starts with sun and ends with clouds with highs in the mid to upper 70s. The next storm system brings some rain Friday night into Saturday morning but if things move along we should see improvement Saturday afternoon and an even better day Sunday.
