Long Island remains on the edge of a marginal risk of severe weather for very late this afternoon and this evening. The satellite loop this morning shows dry conditions west into Pennsylvania so we should be mostly sunny here on Long Island into at least mid afternoon (2-3pm). Go ahead with all out door plans. I don’t think thunderstorms will arrive here until after 4 or 5pm. They will move through quick and they may produce some very gusty winds though I don’t think they will be huge rain producers other than perhaps for a brief burst.

Radars are quiet this morning and will remain so into the afternoon. Once the thunderstorms are done by 8 or 9pm skies will partially clear and it will turn windy late tonight. Highs today will be into the 70s with lows overnight in the mid to upper 40s.
Sunday it will be windy and quite chilly for this time of year with sunshine and clouds and highs just barely back to 60. Monday morning will be cold with lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s but because there will be a breeze, I don’t expect any frosts or freezes. Monday will be cool with sunshine and highs into the lower 60s.
It is beginning to look like much of this coming week will be rain free as everything shifts even further south. The only question may be how much cloud cover is around Tuesday and Wednesday.
