Long Island Sunny Spring Weather Continues Sunday Monday
Long Island Sunny Spring Weather Continues Sunday Monday
It had to happen eventually that we were going to string together some nice sunny days and we have put together a string of 2. Now we are aiming to double that to 4 as Sunday and Monday look like 2 very nice days indeed. We just need to watch those high clouds to the south and west on the satellite as they could sneak in Sunday but even if they do they won’t shut the sun off completely. Highs should reach into the 60s before any sea breeze develops along the south shore and spreads inland.
LONG ISLAND SUNDAY FORECAST HIGH TEMPERATURES
Monday will be a repeat performance with mostly sunny skies with highs reaching into the 60s before any sea breeze develops. High pressure will be right overhead Monday so there should be few if any cloud issues.
US SATELLITE
Things start to go down hill on Tuesday with increasing clouds and an ocean wind. Highs just into the 50s. Rain will likely hold off until evening as the NAM model as well as others seem to agree on low pressure now moving into the Western Gulf states taking its time moving northward..
NAM MODEL 8PM TUESDAY APRIL 24, 2018
This doesn’t look like a big rain maker with amounts at the moment forecast to be a half inch or less. The problem for Long Island however is that there is more energy upstream that is likely to keep things rather damp and unsettled through Friday and probably into next weekend. At least this weekend has turned out to be a big winner and we can carry over through Monday before things go south in a hurry Tuesday.
