Long Island Weather Chilly Night Ahead
Long Island Weather Chilly Night Ahead
With the arrival of cooler air from the north thanks to yesterday’s Matthew/Noreaster we are setting up for a very chilly night. Clear skies are on the satellite and there is still a bit of a gusty wind in some places going into the this evening. But with winds dropping off tonight and clear skies, lows will be down in the 40 to 45 degree range island wide. The Pine Barren areas in Suffolk County could see thermometers dip down into the 30s. Temperatures should stay just above levels that would produce a frost.
Dry air covers the Eastern third of the Untied States and the overall pattern is pretty quiet which means no rain this week. At least we got a solid 1 to 2 inches of rain yesterday as Post Tropical Cyclone Matthew soaked the coast at the last minute.
Radars are quiet. Tuesday and Wednesday highs will be in the 60s. The next front comes through Thursday with little fanfare other than clouds with temperatures rising close to 70. Then another cool shot of air comes in for Friday and the weekend. No rain is forecast at least through Sunday.

Use it in conjunction with my website and my facebook and twitter and you have complete weather coverage of all the latest weather and the long range outlook. The website has been redone and upgraded. Its easy to use and everything is archived so you can see how well Joe does or doesn’t do when it comes to forecasts and outlooks.
