Long Island Weather Downpours Moving In
We have been watching some severe thunderstorms that have developed over Central New Jersey. The first area has weakened but enough is surviving that some rain and downpours are moving into Nassau County and Western Suffolk County. You can see on the satellite loop a blow up of clouds along the coast that is heading northward with some rain. The radars are also beginning to show a few flare ups of possible thunderstorms inside that rain area.

We are just going to have to watch the radars as we go into this evening. There is slightly drier air overhead hear which will probably hinder development to some degree. You can see the stronger cells over New Jersey where the humidity has not gone down much at all today. Look for some rain and a few downpours developing this evening but the rainfall will vary and some places may get very little.
Sunday will probably be more of the same as we are pretty much going to be sitting in the same air mass with the same issues again. But I would think much of the day should be like today in that it would be no worse than partly sunny with highs in the low to middle 80s.
