Long Island Weekend Forecast
Hot Less Humid Saturday Great Weekend
After a hot and rather oppressive day with high humidity we are seeing drier air moving in for the start of the weekend. High pressure is building down from the north and this will mean lots of sunshine on Saturday. While it will be very warm with temperatures in the upper 80s to around 90, the humidity will be lower so it won’t feel nearly as bad. Satellite loop shows dry air building in and it will be around through Sunday. Not a drop of rain is forecast through the weekend.
Sunday temperatures will be a shade lower than Saturday with the high going out to our north. That will put us in a light onshore flow and temperatures in the low to middle 80s. This will be a very good beach weekend. For Long Island south shore beaches there is a low risk of rip currents. Very warm to hot humid conditions return early next week. Later next week a nice dry cool air mass from Canada could head our way for late in the week and the start of the Labor Day holiday weekend.
