The satellite loop shows low clouds along the coast and they have continued to be a problem along the Long Island South Shore and East End. The onshore flow has temperatures in the 60s everywhere.

Along the shore visibility has been down to near zero in places. It seems the fog deck has been confined mostly to marine areas and areas just inland. Some patchy fog is possible tonight away from the coast. No rain is forecast overnight as temperatures settle in the low 60s and even some upper 50s.
Radar is showing showers to the west and they should weaken before reaching us. However some will survive and passing showers are possible Friday morning into the afternoon as a cold front moves through and weakens. Some breaks of sunshine should develop later in the afternoon on Friday as highs try to climb back into the 70s.
Now as far as the weekend goes, Saturday will definitely be the better of the two weekend days with mix sun and clouds and highs well up into the 70s. There should not be an onshore flow issue so it should be a decent beach day. However Sunday we have a well advertised cold front coming with rain and thunderstorms. There is the potential for severe weather late Sunday into Sunday evening as the front approaches.
