Low Humidity To Heat Humidity
Beach Weather Coming This Weekend
What a day we had today over Long Island with low humidity, mainly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 80s. Tonight some parts of Long Island could see the heat get kicked on with 40s over the Pine Barrens and parts of Eastern Long Island. Most lows Tuesday morning will be in the 50s to near 60. A dry Canadian air mass has parked itself over us and the Northeast and we have another day and a half of this at least before we begin a transition to heat and humidity beginning on Friday and then really going into full force this coming weekend and into next week. The Long Island beaches will be the place to be this coming weekend to escape the 90 degree temperatures that we will see in Nassau and Northwestern Suffolk County.
EASTERN SATELLITE LOOP
Another sunny spectacular day for Tuesday with highs mostly in the 70s. Then on Wednesday we will start with sunshine but clouds will start to arrive later in the day with highs in the 70s. A warm front will approach Wednesday night and Thursday and on Thursday the humidity rises along with the chance for showers and some thunderstorms.
FRIDAY FORECAST HIGH TEMPERATURES
SATURDAY FORECAST HIGH TEMPERATURES
Friday and Saturday begins the very warm humid weather with sunshine both days and just the small chance for a pop up evening thunderstorm. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s Friday inland and upper 80s to around or just over 90 on Saturday. Starting Sunday though the heat will be turned higher and wind direction will be key to temperatures. We should reach low 90s at least on Sunday and possible low to mid 90s on Monday away from the ocean. Again there will be the chance for a pop up thunderstorm. The sea breeze will be key to coastal temperatures so beach relief will be available. This stretch of weather could carry into the middle of next week and right into the 4th of July holiday. We will zero in more specifically on the temperatures as the week progresses. In the meantime enjoy the beautiful dry weather we have the next 2 days because once it leaves us, it probably won’t be back for awhile.
