Better Week Ahead But Some Cloud Issues
No Important Rain Until Later Friday
Now that the cold front has moved through and cleared the coastline we finally saw some sunshine today along with a very gusty wind across Long Island. Winds are dropping off as we head into nighttime and skies tonight should be mostly clear as temperatures drop into the 40s. Radars are nice and quiet and should remain that way into Monday morning.

The problem for this coming week is going to be the frontal boundary that sets up to our south. No issues for Monday with nothing worse than a mix of sun and clouds. Sunshine this time of year of any kind takes temperatures up to 70 in a hurry and we should see highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s. There will be enough of a northwest wind to keep the sea breeze at bay until late afternoon Monday.

Monday High Temperatures
Now beyond Monday there is a frontal boundary that will be to our south. Weather systems are weak all the way around so we should not have a strong ocean flow like we did last week. Some clouds will come into the picture Monday night and Tuesday but the solid overcast and any light rain will stay to our south.

GFS MODEL MONDAY AFTERNOON
Once we get into Wednesday the weak high to the north will begin slowly building southward which will force clouds and moisture to the south even further south. We think we will have clouds with some sun Tuesday and Wednesday with more sun than clouds as we head toward Thursday. Temperatures by day will be in the mid 60s to lower 70s. There might be more of an impact from the ocean wind Tuesday and Wednesday which will keep temperatures cooler along shore areas and over central and Eastern Suffolk. No rain of consequence will occur until later Friday with a cold front coming.
With regards to coastal flooding those issues are done and no coastal flooding issues are forecast this week.
