PGA Golf Championship Catching A Break Nice Weekend Ahead
We recovered nicely today after showers overnight and Long Island is enjoying a nice sunny afternoon. Other than a few passing clouds there are no issues into Friday morning. The Northeast satellite picture is showing some patchy cumulus fair weather clouds and that really covers it for the rest of the day. Temperatures are reaching into the 70s. The sea breeze should kick in but not have a big impact on the temperatures. They will fall off some late this afternoon but nothing out of the ordinary. Lows tonight will bottom mostly in the lower 50s.
EASTERN SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
Friday brings a cold front but this front is weak and not producing much. We don’t see it producing much here other than a few passing showers during the afternoon or Friday evening. There will be clouds and some sun for Friday and that should take temperatures into the 70S.
WEEKEND LOOKING DECENT WITH NO RAIN THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING
For a change the weekend is looking good and we don’t see any rain issues through Sunday evening. Saturday should be nice with sunshine. High pressure builds in from the north. Highs will reach into the 70s with an afternoon sea breeze. Sunday is looking okay as well with sunshine and clouds. Highs will be in the 70s. We were concerned about Friday’s cold front stalling out and perhaps producing a few issues on Sunday but this will hold off until Sunday night when we could see a few showers. Then Monday a west wind and some sunshine could push Long Island temperatures into the 80s! Dry cooler weather follows Tuesday and Wednesday.
