Happy Halloween everyone! No tricks, just treats here.
It has been a very cold morning with lows in the 30s, but we will warm up nicely and get treated to a pleasant afternoon of mostly sunny skies and highs in the 60s. Excellent timing for those in search of candy this evening, especially those with costumes that may not be as toasty. This has a good chance to be our warmest Halloween since 2013.
A few more clouds roll in tonight as a front stalls out to our north and west. Thursday will feature intervals of clouds and sun, with even warmer temperatures. Most of the island will get well into the 60s, but there is an outside shot at 70 for northern Nassau county.
The front begins to push in Thursday night, with a few showers by Friday morning. Friday afternoon could feature some heavy rain that could total over an inch.
As the cold front passes through, rain will taper off at some point Saturday, and temperatures will drop rapidly. Expect a chilly Saturday night and a sunny and seasonably cool Sunday.
Have a great Halloween!
