Decent Stretch Of Weather Friday Through Tuesday
One of the things that has been lacking for months has been a decent stretch of weather lasting more than say 24 hours. We may actually see a decent stretch of weather Friday through Tuesday of next week though it won’t be picture perfect and it won’t be warm. At least we should see some sunshine each day in that period. Before that of course there is Thursday which is not looking too good at this point. A small system is moving through the Midwest this afternoon producing another round of snow for hard hit Northern Iowa, Southern Minnesota & Wisconsin which is still digging out from the weekend’s record April snowstorm. This low is moving east and will redevelop off the New Jersey coast on Thursday. It sets us up for some on and off rain late tonight into Thursday afternoon.
LONG ISLAND RAINFALL FORECAST THURSDAY
It won’t be much rain wise with just a quarter of an inch or so of rain forecast. Between that, the clouds and a wind off the ocean temperatures won’t be much out of the 40s all day.
US SATELLITE
Right now the sun is having some limited success this afternoon with occasional clouds coming through from time to time thanks to the old weekend storm which is stuck in Southeastern Canada. At least there is only a limited amount of room which keeps this system Thursday from getting too out of hand.
Weather conditions improve on Friday with a mix of sun and clouds. The weekend brings some sunshine both days with just occasional clouds. The chilly flow from Canada keeps it dry but it also keeps it cool with highs both days in the 50s. Monday looks like a sunny chilly day as high pressure builds in from the Great Lakes. Sunshine should last into Tuesday before clouds arrive later in the day with highs again in the 50s. Then it gets messy for next Wednesday as low pressure lifts northward up the east coast with rain and and ocean wind. We will look at this a bit closer over the next few days.
