Finally Some Improving Long Island Weather

The seemingly endless nature of cloudy skies, onshore winds, and chilly May temperatures is about to take a bit of a break. We are seeing attempts at the sun breaking through the clouds today and that should at least send temperatures into the 70s. We still have a cold front to work through today and we may see another passing shower or perhaps a thunderstorm this afternoon. Much of the day at least should be rain free.

Not much is happening at the moment on local radars. The regional radar is showing some showers in upstate NY and those are moving into New England.

Once done with any showers skies will clear out tonight with lows in the 50s. Monday looks like we will see some sunshine with highs in the 70s. Tuesday the onshore flow (wind off the ocean) returns with cloudy skies and some showers with highs in the 60s.

Wednesday we should begin a decent stretch of Long Island weather that should take us into at least Saturday. Temperatures will be in the 70s and we could see some 80s away from the ocean beginning Friday and lasting into the Memorial Day holiday weekend. It would seem some showers could threaten at some point next weekend but we will deal with that possibility in the coming days.
