Sunshine & Clouds Back Into The 60s
Hard to imagine that this is mid May when the average high should be into the 70s but such is the world we live in at the moment. To top it off with more sunshine, we have more wind as the atmosphere heats up and interacts with the very cold air that is aloft. At least we should see the lower 60s this afternoon on average but some areas to the east could wind up just under 60.
Gale Warnings continue for the ocean coastal waters with Small Craft Advisory for Long Island Sound and the Great South Bay. We should start to see winds and seas diminish tonight.

Tuesday we will see arriving clouds with some light rain close by or just to our south. That rain might sneak in for a few hours Tuesday night and then move out early Wednesday morning. Then it is back to sunshine and dry conditions. Temperatures Tuesday will be in the low 60s due to clouds and then mid 60s to near 70 Wednesday and Thursday as temperatures trend back toward normal. No big storms or big rains anytime soon for Long Island, at least through the work week.
