High Wind Warning Suffolk Wind Advisory Nassau
Winds are beginning to increase across Long Island as we head into the evening hours thanks to developing storm to our west that is heading into upstate New York. Showers also have been increasing now as the satellite and radar show rain coming in from the west from Pennsylvania. The heavier downpours will be overnight until the front passes.

..HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EST SUNDAY... The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a High Wind Warning, which is in effect until noon EST Sunday. The Wind Advisory is no longer in effect. * WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts 55 to 60 mph. * TIMING...Tonight into Sunday morning. Strongest winds late tonight. * IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST SUNDAY... The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect until 6 PM EST Sunday. * WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts 45 to 50 mph, becoming west to northwest on Sunday. * TIMING...Late tonight into Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected.
Winds overnight will increase and the strongest winds will probably occur from 2am Sunday until around noontime. Winds from the southwest will gust as high as 60 mph in parts of Suffolk County. The rain will end around or just after daybreak on Long Island from west to east Sunday morning and we should see skies clear from west to east as temperatures fall from the 50s into and through the 40s by days end. Winds will begin to ease Sunday night. Monday looks nice and sunny but chilly with highs just in the 40s.
