Weather Changes Next 5 Days Long Island Thanksgiving
We are going to be seeing weather changes over the next 5 days across Long Island beginning tonight and Thursday as the first of 3 cold fronts head our way over the next week. This front isn’t especially strong but the satellite loop does show clouds to the west which will begin to arrive later this evening. In the meantime we have been fighting coastal clouds all day today though the sun did have some marginal success. Temperatures today had a tough time getting out of the 40s but they will likely stay in the 40s overnight.
There is nothing on the radar that is remotely close so any rain will likely hold off until the morning hours around daybreak. Then we should get some rain Thursday into midday with temperatures back in the 50s.
Thursday afternoon there still could be a passing shower but weather conditions should generally improve with clearing skies Thursday night and Friday will be nice and sunny. Lows Thursday night will be in the 30s and highs Friday should reach the low 50s.
The next front arrives late Saturday with clouds increasing and the likelyhood of showers late in the day into Saturday night with highs in the 50s. That will be followed by colder and windy conditions Sunday with clouds and some sun with the risk of a passing shower. Temperatures will just be in the 40s. Monday looks dry and cold with sunshine with highs in the 40s. Right now it appears another front approaches late Tuesday and Tuesday night with some showers. Then another shot of cold dry air will arrive for next Wednesday & Thanksgiving day Thursday with sunshine and highs in the 40s.
