Colder Weather Long Island Next 2 Weeks
As we look ahead to the rest of the week and into next week for Long Island we are going to be seeing an overall trend of below average temperatures. For the rest of this week temperatures will average a little below average while next week they will be much below average. The long range weather pattern continues to suggest a cold pattern developing this weekend with a strong flow of air out of Canada.
On the satellite loop tonight dry air is developing to our west and that should at least partially clear skies out for awhile tonight. However clouds from the offshore system will be close by and they are likely to back westward overnight and hang around for most of Tuesday. Temperatures overnight will be in the mid to upper 30s and Tuesday’s highs could have a tough time getting back to 50 as clouds hold on.
As for the rain on the radar to the east that should not be a problem. There is the chance for an odd shower or sprinkle popping up on Tuesday but the chance of that happening is low.
Wednesday we should see a fair amount of sunshine with highs back into the lower 50s. Thursday a cold front will pass through with the risk of a shower and Friday will be nice with sunshine. Highs both days will be in the 50s but Thursday will be a bit warmer than Friday.

Saturday brings a good chance for showers as a cold front moves through with highs in the mid 50s. Behind it begins a shot of much colder air for Sunday and into Thanksgiving week. Sunday might be cold enough for a few passing rain or even some snow showers as an upper air disturbance moves through.
