Long Island Boat Beach Forecast
The weekend is here and for Long Island it will be a typical mid July weekend. Friday was the hottest day of the summer on Long Island. Everyone hit the 90s today including much of the East End. There was hardly a sea breeze at the beaches where temperatures also reached into the 90s. There was one pop of small thunderstorm that lasted all of 30 minutes. It formed over Smithtown and then died off as it raced eastward about a half an hour later. Now as we head into the weekend, outside of a pop up or scattered shower or thunderstorm looks okay to me. There will be some clouds from time to time but also a fair amount of sunshine. The satellite loop shows a series of weak disturbances in the flow but nothing here says there will be any major issues.
Radars are showing only some widely scattered thunderstorms if any at all. Look for the humidity to drop off a bit on Saturday and Sunday. It should feel a little more comfortable. Highs Saturday will be in the mid to upper 80s. Sunday’s highs could be a shade lower.

The next chance for any thunderstorms will come late Monday or Monday evening as the next cold front comes through.
