Euro Model Iffy For Father’s Day Weekend
We will continue to see another round of gusty winds during the day Monday with no worse than partly sunny skies. An upper air disturbance coming through this morning will produce a few clouds. Other than that we see no rain in the forecast at least through Wednesday. Monday’s issue is the bone dry conditions so that will increase the risk for brush fires. If you are outdoors camping or working be careful with any open flame.

Tight Pressure Gradient
We have a tight pressure gradient across the northeast. Low pressure in Nova Scotia is strong. High pressure sits in Ohio. The difference in pressure between the 2 is large relative to the distance which is short. This creates a zone of strong gusty winds.

Forecast Afternoon Wind Gusts
We will see winds gusting to 30 mph or more at times during Monday though I think it should be a little less windy than Sunday. Temperatures should reach the low to mid 70s.
Radars will be nice and quiet into Wednesday and winds will begin to slowly subside later Tuesday and Tuesday night. Tuesday we should have lots of sun with highs 75 to near 80. Given the tight pressure gradient there will be no sea breeze over the next 2 days.
Beyond Wednesday low pressure will be forced to our south and we will see some sort of low developing off the Carolinas late this week. How this impacts our weather and the Father’s day weekend remains to be seen. Check out my European weather model discussion for more.
