Long Island Enjoys A Beach Weekend With Warm Humid Conditions No Rain

If you were waiting for a beach weekend, it looks like you have one coming. Long Island had a nice day overall with sunshine and a few patchy clouds today. Now we head into a weekend where there are no issues. High pressure will be along the coast and the next cold front won’t be close enough to produce showers and thunderstorms until sometime Monday. This leaves us with a warm and increasingly humid weekend with levels going up on Sunday. Tonight though it should be nice and clear with most lows in the low to mid 60s except for a few upper 50s in the coolest spots in Suffolk County.

Saturday will be a nice day for anything outdoors be it beach, pool, park, or back yard. We are looking at sunshine. Temperatures will be toping in the low to middle 80s except a little cooler along the shore with local sea breezes. Humidity levels should still be reasonable Saturday. Again no rain is forecast.

The flow becomes more southwest on Sunday so the humidity will be rising. However we lack a mechanism for any showers and thunderstorms as the European model loop shows. This leaves us with another day of sunshine with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Again it will be a little cooler at the shore with local sea breezes. Monday brings a chance for showers and thunderstorms later in the day with highs into the 80s. This cold front will move through and keep moving and another dry air mass comes to lower the humidity and the temperatures for Tuesday into Wednesday of next week. Enjoy the weekend.
