Beautiful Afternoon Ahead
Combining two post into one here as we have a beautiful looking satellite loop with lots of sunshine over Long Island and this should continue into this afternoon with no issue. You can also see the flare up off the southeast US coast which is the tropical depression. This system now has a window of opportunity to strengthen into a tropical storm this afternoon and tonight as it moves over the gulf stream. This is not going to have any impact at all on our weather through Sunday night.
The only issue this afternoon is whether any pop up showers or thunderstorms develop. Given that we already have a south wind, i think anything that develops will be well north and west of us. The same should hold true for Sunday as well. Highs will get into the 80s and then drop back into the 70s. If you are on the East End, 70s will be the peak and then back into the 60s during the afternoon.
