Long Island Temperatures 40s!
What an absolutely miserable day. Temperatures now have settled into the 40s with a gusty northwest wind and some rain. Cold air is working its way down from the upper atmosphere as a storm intensifies in New England. We are also seeing one last round of rain coming up from off the ocean. Once the storm pulls far enough north we should see weather conditions begin to improve tonight.
Winds will be picking up further this evening with gusts to 40 mph possible. Temperatures tonight will setlle in the upper 30s to lower 40s as skies partially clear. Sunday looks like a mix of sun and clouds with a gusty wind continuing and highs in the 50s to near 60. Monday we see the next shot of cold air and ahead of that there could be a few early morning showers before we go to a mix of sun and clouds. Monday’s highs will be in the lower 60s before we chill down into the 30s Tuesday morning. Wednesday morning will be the coldest of the stretch with the chance for a freeze in some parts of Suffolk County.
