We have one more nice day to enjoy on Long Island before low pressure from the south moves up the east coast. This is not a strong system by any means. We will see a period of rain here late tonight and lasting through much of the day Tuesday. Rain fall amounts could be on the order of a 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch or so which is better than nothing. This is going to be the first rainfall in over 2 weeks

For the month so far we are averaging about 2 or so degrees above normal which is really in my view in the area of statistical noise. Im not sure where everyone got the idea that November was once an ice box month. But no matter, The lack of rain is very serious obviously and other than trace amounts we have not seen a drop of rain here in the month of November so far.
The radar is beginning to load up (relatively speaking) to the south but none of this gets here today with highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Look for the rain to arrive late tonight and last through much of Tuesday. Hopefully we will get the amounts forecast by weather models.
Longer term it appears a pattern change will be getting underway later this week leading to colder weather next week for Thanksgiving and beyond. Here is the latest video analysis.
