Long Island Week Ahead Gloom Doom Weather Takes Hold Beginning Tuesday
At least today will be a much better day on Long Island with sunshine but it will be chilly. A northwest flow of dry air will be over Long Island Sunday and Monday. Today’s highs will be in the lower 40s with a bit of a breeze from the northwest. The satellite loop shows mostly clear weather conditions along the coast and other than a few passing clouds, there are no issues for today. Tonight will be nice clear and cold with lows in the 20s. Cold spots in the Suffolk County Pine Barrens will likely bottom in the teens. Monday looks good too with sunshine much if not all day. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40s.

WEATHER RADAR
Beginning Tuesday Long Island will be dealing with weather issues probably for the rest of the week. A cold front to the north and a southerly flow ahead of it will mean clouds and showers developing during Tuesday. Temperatures will reach the upper 50s to around 60 degrees. Showers will last into early Wednesday before the front passes. Clouds will remain for the rest of Wednesday.
The front stalls to the south and another wave of low pressure heads east and northeast for Thursday and Friday and this will set Long Island up for a colder raw outloo for later Thursday and Friday. Rain develops later Thursday and continues into Friday with temperatures settling in the 40s. The blocking pattern is likely to mean more weather systems every couple of days in the longer range.
