LONG ISLAND WEEK AHEAD FORECAST
The next 2 days will be the downside this week. Lots of clouds will be around tonight and Monday. We managed to break out nicely in some areas this afternoon and showers have disappeared for the time being on the radar as they are concentrated west and south of Long Island. I will leave the chance for a passing shower tonight and again on Monday. Much of the time it will be rain free but clouds will be dominating the weather picture with just occasional brightening and perhaps a few breaks of sun on Monday.
Long Island Week Ahead Satellite & Radar Loops
Weather conditions will deteriorate late Monday into Tuesday as a second low pressure system moves up the coast. This will spread rain here Monday night into Tuesday morning. There could be a few heavier downpours Monday night into Tuesday morning as the center of the surface low and the upper low move overhead. I hesitate on the idea of how much rain because of what happened yesterday when the rain fell apart. The dynamics are a bit stronger for Monday night into Tuesday morning so a 1/2 inch is possible.
Long Island week ahead Tuesday Rainfall Forecast
Temperatures will be in the 50s to near 60 tonight and in the upper 60s to near 70 Monday. Once the rain is done Tuesday weather conditions will begin to slowly improve. Wednesday sunshine will return with highs into the 70s and the rest of the week looks pretty good with sunshine for Thursday and Friday.
The Memorial Day Holiday weekend is at hand and it looks promising. How warm it gets will depend on the onshore flow that sets up Friday and Saturday and whether it gives way for Sunday and Monday which I think it will. JOESTRADAMUS has more on the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend.
