Long Island Weekend Weather Forecast
No Rain Until Late Sunday
The weekend is here and for Long Island it should be another good weekend overall. It will be warm and humid through Sunday but nothing excessive. Other than an isolated thunderstorm that can’t be ruled out, no rain of consequence is forecast until Sunday evening when a cold front is forecast ot move through.
Satellite loop shows some tropical moisture to the south and well offshore but none of that is coming here. To the west Sunday’s cold front is making its way into the Northern Plains. Look for nothing more than some passing clouds tonight with lows mostly between 70 and 75. Saturday & Sunday we will have clouds mixed with sunshine and highs both days in the low to mid 80s.

Sunday evening with the cold front nearby there could be some thunderstorms, at least in theory.

NAM MODEL FORECAST SUNDAY EVENING
Both verisons of the NAM model show a line of thunderstorms coming through in the late afternoon and evening. Behind the front is a dry air mass that will bring beautiful weather for the first part of next week. This will mean sunshine for Monday through Wednesday with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s and lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s. This is beautiful for this time of year.
