Onshore Flow Hangs On Easter Weekend Long Island Snow Sunday Night South For Now
ONSHORE FLOW HANGS ON, EASTER WEEKEND,
LONG ISLAND SNOW SUNDAY NIGHT STAYS SOUTH FOR NOW
First things first is this Friday where Long Island is still hanging on to the onshore flow. We have showers and some patchy fog around this morning and there will be some more showers into this afternoon. Temperatures are holding in the upper 40s to around 50 but we should be able to climb up through the 50s later this afternoon once the cold front passes through. Weather conditions should start to improve late this afternoon and evening. Skies will clear tonight as Passover begins and we head into a the Easter

The first batch of showers has moved on through and there will probably be one more round of showers around midday before we start to see some genuine improvement.
As far as the weekend goes, it looks good for both Saturday and most of Easter Sunday. Both days will features some sunshine with highs in the 50s. Saturday night into early Easter Sunday morning a cold front will be moving through with the chance of a passing shower. Otherwise the weekend looks dry and there are no weather issues to worry about.
Sunday night into Monday morning a weather system will be moving off the Delaware coast and pass by to our south. Snow is likely to get close to Long Island late Sunday night/early Monday morning but right now it appears it should stay to the south of us. Assuming this is the case later Monday we will see clouds and some sunshine with highs just in the 40s. There will be shots of cold air as we move through next week with the next shot of cold arriving later on Wednesday so we may warm up somewhat on Tuesday with arriving clouds and highs in the 50s. There is the chance for showers Tuesday night into Wednesday with cold dry air following that.
With regards to snow threats however minor they appear to be, we will look more at this Sunday night chance for snow later today but for now it appears that this will be mainly a Central & Southern New Jersey cheap thrill snow.
