Onshore Winds Keep Long Island Temperatures in Check This Weekend
When it comes to spring, Long Island is probably the worst place to be thanks to dealing with winds off the ocean and long stretches of cloudy days. We are are least going to catch a break regarding cloudy days but the wind direction will be off the ocean much of the time now through the weekend and that is going to impact afternoon high temperatures. Today we have a mix of sun and clouds. A cold front is coming in from the west but the showers with that front should fall apart before it gets here. Highs should reach the upper 50s and lower 60s this afternoon.

Once the front passes we will see dry air come back in but the air behind the front is not all that cold. Skies should partially clear tonight with lows in the 40s. Friday is the best day of the week with sunshine taking highs to the mid and upper 60s which is where we should be for this time of year. It will be the one day of the next 5 where wind direction will have a positive impact on temperatures.
The weekend is looking okay for the most part. We will have to deal with changeable sky conditions ranging from cloudy skies at time to occasionally partly sunny. No rain is forecast this weekend with highs Saturday in the mid to upper 50s. Sunday highs will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s. No rain is forecast this weekend.
