While the severe drought continues, Sunshine, low humidity, and pleasant temperatures will be the story for Long Island for the first part of the new week. Showers that are moving through now won’t amount to too much as the bulk of the energy is to our south where thunderstorms are more active. Once this cold front moves out, skies will clear out and it will turn cooler and less humid over night. Monday and Tuesday will be two great days with lots of sunshine. Monday temperatures will reach the lower 80s on a northwest wind. Monday night will be quite cool with lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s.
You can see the front clearly on the radar this evening with showers from Western New England and Eastern New York southward into Virginia. Heavy thunderstorms are moving across Southernmost New Jersey southward. Once the line clears in a few hours, weather conditions will improve quickly.
Tuesday and Wednesday look like 2 great days with lots of sunshine. Tuesday’s highs will be in the upper 70s to around 80 and Wedneday’s highs in the lower 80s. No big weather changes loom this week until late week when the next weak cold front arrives and moves through.
