Super Bowl Weekend Quiet & Calm
Long Island weather for Super Bowl weekend looks quite and calm. We are seeing a cold air mass building today while weak low pressure goes out to the south and east. This produced clouds this morning but some sunshine is peaking through this afternoon. It is a cold day with temperatures in the low to mid 30s.
SUPER BOWL WEEKEND FORECAST LOWS SATURDAY MORNING
Tonight will be cold with clearing skies as temperatures head to the upper teens and lower 20s. Saturday we should see plenty of sunshine but highs will just be in the lower 30s.
Some clouds will come in Saturday night ahead of a weak cold front that will move through later Sunday. Temperatures will moderate on Super Bowl Sunday with highs reaching the 40s. Then another high pressure area builds in for Sunday night and Monday with sunshine most of Monday and highs in the mid to upper 30s.
A major storm is headed for the Great Lakes and for Long Island it means rain and perhaps some wind issues later Tuesday night into Wednesday. Temperatures will rise through the 40s Monday and reach the 50s on Wednesday before the storm pulls out and a cold front moves through. Dry cold air follows behind it and there are no threats for snow through the next week. The only chance for any frozen precipitation is if it comes in fast enough Tuesday morning before warm air takes over. Even if it does it won’t amount to anything.
