Warmer Midweek Before More Changes
We are starting out with a bit of a chill this morning but the satellite loop shows clear skies for Long Island today with nothing more than a few passing high clouds. Temperatures are going to begin to respond to warmer air coming in from the west as high pressure moves offshore so we should break into the lower 50s this afternoon. It should be a very nice late November day. Temperatures tonight will probably not fall much below the upper 30s and lower 40s thanks to a west southwest wind.
Radars will remain silent here through Thursday. Even though a cold front does move through on Wednesday there will be nothing more than a few midday clouds with its passage. We should still see a fair amount of sunshine on Wednesday and temperatures should reach 60 or so before chilly (but not cold) air returns for Wednesday night and Thursday. Thursday’s highs will be back in the 40s to near 50 with sunshine giving way to arriving clouds.
THURSDAY FORECAST HIGHS
Friday we see another cold front passing through and this one could produce a few showers overnight Thursday into Friday morning. Then sunshine returns Friday with highs in the 40s to near 50. The weekend is a little dicey for Sunday with low pressure possibly developing just to our south. This puts us at a risk for rain on Sunday but Saturday looks okay at this point. Temperatures this weekend will be mainly in the 40s.
