Weather Conditions Long Island Slow To Improve
Typical for the spring Long Island always has a tough time in situations like this. While weather conditions have improved to the west and south the wind off the ocean and the proximity to an upper air low to the east are keeping Long Island in low clouds though the sun has had some success in some places. Temperatures as a result are struggling in the 60s.
LONG ISLAND 3PM WEATHER CONDITIONS AND TEMPERATURES
The satellite loop is showing clouds lifting up to the north but some low clouds will return tonight and so will some clouds to the west with a dying cold front. Other than a passing early morning shower we should have not much to worry from this and sunshine will be more successful on Friday with highs reaching the mid to upper 70s.
Saturday will be a warm day with some sun though there is the risk for a passing shower or thunderstorm early in the day and again late in the day. Highs will reach the upper 70s to near 80. Sunday will be about 15 degrees cooler with an onshore flow and temperatures in the 60s.
Monday sees a strong southwest flow and temperatures in the 70s to near 80 (away from the ocean) and a chance for late day and nighttime showers and thunderstorms.
Long range is showing a strong blocking pattern setting up for later next week which will mean a cool and potentially rainy pattern developing as the week progresses. JOESTRADAMUS has more on this in his latest long range post.
