We are seeing the combination of a chilly air mass and a strong May sun combining to produce a chilly windy day across Long Island. Sunshine with some developing clouds will be the story today. There is the chance for passing afternoon sprinkle but that should be it. The winds will be gusty however to 30 to 40 mph especially this evening and the first part of tonight. Gale Warnings are up for the coastal waters. Temperatures will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s at best.
Tonight is looking cold with lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s with a mix of clear skies and passing clouds. No frost or freeze is forecast because there should be enough of a wind to keep things moving around in the atmosphere.

Monday Morning Low Temperature Forecast
Sunshine on Monday is forecast but again a cool day with highs just back into the 60s.Tuesday into Wednesday we will see arriving clouds with the chance for a period of rain Tuesday night into Wednesday morning as weak low pressure goes by to our south. Highs Tuesday just into the 60s.
Hurricane Season begins in the Eastern Pacific today and here is my outlook.
