Cindy Remnants Moving Northeast Long Island Weekend Outlook
Cindy Remnants Moving Northeast
Long Island Weekend Outlook
This is the first weekend in the summer season and we have the remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy heading here for what looks like two rounds of downpours. The good news is that if everything moves on schedule, we may see some downpours early and late Friday and again Saturday morning. But weather conditions should begin to improve from west to east Saturday afternoon (last on the East End) and we could see partly sunny skies developing. Sunday looks great with lots of sunshine low humidity and temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s.
Looking at the satellite loop this evening we see clouds to our south. It was a nice day with sunshine and a few clouds with comfortable humidity. The humidity levels will be headed higher overnight as clouds increase. There are actually 3 areas of rain that will be headed here.
HRRR MODEL CINDY REMNANTS FRIDAY MORNING 9AM
The first is part of Cindy that came in on Thursday along the Eastern Gulf coast. You can see the remnant circulation of Cindy on the satellite spinning away in East Texas. Clouds and rain in the Tennessee Valley will move here Friday morning. That area will weaken some as it goes by. Then a second round of downpours could occur Friday evening as a cold front nears.
The third area moves through Saturday morning and that is the core circulation of Cindy. That will amount to a narrow band of downpours that comes through in the morning and then moves out. Some models actually weaken this area and if that happens we might not get much with that. Either way it will get better in the afternoon. Saturdays highs will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Humidity will start to drop in the afternoon. Highs Sunday will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s with lots of sunshine!
