Rain For The Morning Commute
Latest satellite and radar developments show rain sweeping northwestward from off the ocean as low pressure develops offshore and heads northwestward toward the north central New Jersey coast for later today. Latest HRRR and NAM models show the shift and have increased the rainfall for Long Island especially from the western half of Suffolk County Westward.

HRRR MODEL 7AM FRIDAY
The HRRR model simulated radar for 7am shows heavy rain covering all of Long Island. Allow for extra travel time for your morning commute. Rain should continue and the begin to taper off later in the morning and may be done before lunch time with just some showers during the afternoon. Rainfall amounts could total 1/2 to 3/4 inch with higher amounts as you head west into Nassau County toward New York City.

A COASTAL FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Southern Nassau County for the high tides forecast for Friday evening. Those tides could run 1 1/2 feet above normal and this has the potential to cause moderate coastal flooding. Here are the tide tides and forecast tide heights.
