Cool Damp Late July Conditions Continue
A look at this map above at 4pm weather conditions and you wonder that it is July 24th. Cool damp conditions continue on Long Island through at least part of Tuesday. Temperatures late this afternoon which just a few days ago were in the lower 90s with hardly a sea breeze, are in the lower 60s in some places, You can thank the north northeast wind that brought down cooler air from Eastern New England. Low pressure is moving to the east and the onshore flow will remain into at least part of Tuesday. This probably means damp conditions continue overall with some spotty light rain or drizzle overnight. Temperatures will be going no where and will hold between 60 and 65 degrees.
In addition it is a new moon and we have a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for the south shores of Nassau County for minor coastal flooding tonight at high tide. Also if you are at the beaches in weather like this..there is a high risk of rip currents.

Weather conditions will slowly improve Tuesday though there will be lots of clouds until the mid or late afternoon when drier air from the north could cause some sun to break through. Highs will just be 70 to 75. Wednesday looks great with lots of sunshine and low humidity with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
