Record Lows Freeze Warning Friday Night Saturday Morning
We await the arrival of a polar front that will bring in the coldest air of the season for Long Island Friday into Sunday morning. Record lows are probable Saturday morning and possibly Sunday morning as low temperatures will reach down into the lower 20s in most areas with even a few upper teens possible.
RECORD LOWS FREEZE WARNING SATURDAY MORNING FORECAST LOWS
As for the daytime Friday it will be a windy and cold day with sunshine but once temperatures settle in the 30s Friday morning they are likely to stay there all day long. Saturday sunshine is forecast with less wind with highs barely back to 40.
As far a precipitation is concerned none is forecast through the dayside Sunday. We will see some sunshine Sunday give way to arriving clouds. Temperatures will moderate somewhat with highs in the upper 40s to near 50. The next weather system that approaches for Monday looks to be weak as it passes through with just some clouds and not much else.
Long range we seem to be headed for an active cold pattern with strong blocking developing in the upper atmosphere which could make Thanksgiving week rather interesting. JOESTRADAMUS has more on this in his latest long range outlook.
