The weather from west to east across Long Island this evening is perfect for 4th of July Fireworks. Jones Beach fireworks weather is going to be perfect with a light sea breeze and temperatures in the 70s. Skies should be no worse than partially clear if not mostly clear. The chance of a shower or thunderstorm is at zero. Dry air across the Great Lakes continues to push southeastward. Clouds and showers to the south will stay there right through Wednesday night.
We will continue today’s nice weather on Wednesday as high pressure builds southward from upstate NY. Skies should be partly to mostly sunny with highs reaching the upper 70s to lower 80s with a nice breeze from off the ocean.
Clouds and humidity will begin to return on Thursday with temperatures in the 70s thanks to an onshore wind. There is the chance for showers Thursday night but the daytime Thursday should be dry. Friday brings a cold front and a chance for showers or a thunderstorm late in the day into Friday night. This front will keep on moving and that means a nice weekend of sunshine is setting up. Saturday we will see a mix of sun and leftover clouds with highs in the low to mid 80s. Sunday will be nice sunny and dry with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
