Long Island Big Temperature Changes Sunday
Most of this afternoon the west wind has been in complete control with temperatures reaching the lower 80s even along the south shore. However now as we move into the evening hours we are seeing quite the cool off along the south shore. Temperatures south of Sunrise Highway are in the low to mid 60s now while north of the Long Island Expressway it remains in the 80s for a bit longer.
As far as the satellite and radar loops are concerned we only have clouds moving in. Showers and thunderstorms remain west in the Ohio Valley and are not an issue for tonight.
Sunday comes the big change island wide with an east wind and clouds. Temperatures will settle in the 50s Sunday and stay there all day.
The question of whether there will be clouds and a few showers remains along with some spotty light rain or drizzle. Some breaks of sun are possible as well but this is going to be a big change from today.
Monday we will attempt to go back through the 60s to near 70 as winds will be south southwest and a cold front approaches. Showers and thunderstorms are possible Monday night. I think the dayside on Monday should be rain free. Cooler air returns on Tuesday.
