Thunderstorms Saturday Morning Long Island
We are watching energy in the Ohio Valley as you can see on the satellite loop as it shoots eastward. Right now we are seeing sunshine as temperatures rise toward 80 or so. Saturday will be another very warm day with temperatures into the 80s. Late tonight between 4am and 8am there will be some thunderstorms moving through. We don’t see anything on the radars for the rest of today and it should be fine through the first part of the night.
The latest HRRR model shows a very impressive line of storms and other models do have the same idea for late tonight into early Saturday morning

Once the thunderstorms are done temperatures will take off into the 80s before a backdoor cold front moves through Saturday evening. Sunday will be 20 degrees cooler with highs just in the upper 50s & lower 60s.
Clouds and an ocean wind will be an issue for Sunday and we will have to keep an eye on whether some light rain or drizzle comes in from off the ocean. Saturday will be the better of the two weekend days.
