Rain Arriving After Midnight
Late this afternoon a fog bank that was sitting offshore all day long came inland and it remains over Long Island especially from the LIE southward where visibility is near zero in some places so be extra cautious tonight if you are out. Rain is approaching from the south and should begin to move in from west to east across Long Island after midnight. Heavier rain is likely late tonight through at least Monday morning. Temperatures are in the 60s and will probably hold there with the southeast wind and the tropical flow of moisture moving in.

Rain should continue into Monday afternoon and Long Island will be the last to see the rain exit. Some models are very slow in getting the rain out of the way. Perhaps if it gets in faster overnight it can get out of the way faster. Models are forecasting 1 to 2 inches of rain from this.

Once the rain is done weather conditions should improve on Tuesday with a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the low 80s. Then it cools off a bit Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the 70s. The remnant low from Bonnie will pass offshore and for now without any last minute rain complications.
