Long Island Nice Autumn Weather Continues Wednesday,
Fronts Moving Through Friday & Weekend
It was a good looking Tuesday for Long Island. The upper low to the northeast and the associated trough moved out to the east taking Long Island out of the flow of unstable air. As a result it was a mostly sunny day and all the clouds and scattered showers were well to the north and east. Temperatures made it up to the mid and upper 60s. Skies tonight will be most clear. Most lows will be in the low to mid 50s with some 40s in cool spots.

There are no issues for Wednesday as we will have plenty of sun. Highs will reach the low to mid 70s with temperatures a little cooler at the shore. Wednesday night there are no issues with lows in the 50s. Thursday sees a cold front approach but it probably won’t pass through until late Thursday night. Most of the day will be mostly sunny with highs 70 to 75.
The front passes Long Island early Friday morning and slows down a bit which will probably mean some clouds around Friday. Im going to throw in the chance for a shower on Friday until the front pushes out a little further east. There could be some sun in the mix though. Highs will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
Another front will be moving southeast from Canada over the weekend and a strengthening upper trough will be moving into the Northeast much like the one we just had only stronger. Saturday will be a day of changeable sky conditions and there could be a few scattered showers around. Highs will be back in the 60s. The second front should pass early Sunday morning leaving us breezy and cool for Sunday with some sun but there will be instability clouds around. I will leave the chance for a passing shower out of the forecast. Highs Sunday will be just in the 50s to near 60. That cool air mass coming down will mean sunshine for Monday but highs will be just in the 50s.
